REPORT ON PLAGUE IN THE PUNJAB FROM OCTOBER 1ST, 1902, TO SEPTEMBER 30TH, 1903, WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO INOCULATION OPERATIONS. INTRODUCTION. Arrangement. 1. This report deals with the epidemic of plague in the Punjab from October 1st, 1902, to September 30th, 1903, and special attention is given to the inoculation opera- tions which have been the chief feature of the year. In view of the fact that, except as regards inoculation, the circumstances of the present year do not differ materially from those of the year 1901-02 and that the report on last year's epidemic deals fully with the outbreak in each district and with the measures undertaken for dealing with the same, it will only be necessary to refer briefly to these particulars. In the report for this year a short review of the epidemic, and of the measures taken in connection with it, will first be given, the conditions of each district will then be separately noticed, and attention will be devoted to inoculation in a separate part of this report.
