With the evacuation of Sholápur Town the second stage of the epidemic may be said to
end.
Of the third stage, there is little to say. The figures record the rapid subsidence of
the disease, and in the period of a few weeks its total cessation: for, imported cases excepted,
Sholápur Town was practically free from plague from the beginning of February 1898.
