2 Lt.-Col. Doherty served with
the 14th Lt. Drs. throughout the
Punjaub campaign of 1848-9, in¬
cluding the action of Ranmuggur,
passage of the Chenab, battles of
Chillianwallah and Goojerat, pur¬
suit of the enemy across the Jhc-
lura, and of the Aftghans over the
Indus through the Khyber Pass
(Medal and Clasps). At Ram-
nuggur he brought the charging
squadrons, under Col. Havelock
who was killed, across the nullah
and out of the enemy's entrench¬
ments; and at Goojerat he com¬
manded a body of H. M.’s Dra¬
goons and Native Light Cavalry.
5 Maj. Goddard served with the
14th Lt. Drs. throughout the Pun¬
jaub campaign of 1848-9, including
the action of Ramnuggur (with the
charging squadrons), passage of
the Chenab, battles of Chillian-
wallah and Goojerat (severely
wounded): Medal and Clasps.
7 Capts. Scudamore and Todd served with the 4th
Lt. Drs. throughout the campaign in Affghanistan in
1838 and 39, including the siege and capture of Ghuz-
nee (Medal). They served with the 14th Lt. Drs.
throughout the Punjaub campaign of 1848-9, including
the action of Ramnuggur, passage of the Chenab,
battles of Chillianwallah and Goojerat, pursuit of the
enemy across the Jhelum, and of the AfFghans over the
Indus through the Khyber Pass (Medal and Clasps).
Capt. Scudamore was slightly wounded at Ramnuggur,
and dangerously at Goojerat.

1 Lieut.-General the Hon. Henry Murray served in Naples, Sicily, and Calabria, in 180G-7. Accom¬
panied the expedition to Egypt in March 1807, and was present, as an Aide-de-camp, at the attack on
Alexandria, siege and storming of .Rosetta, and on every other occasion when our troops were engaged.
Served at Walcheren in 1809, including the siege and surrender of Flushing. Went with the 18th Hussars
to the Peninsula in Jan. 1813; present at the crossing of the Eslar, and commanded the regiment in sup¬
port of the 10th Hussars at the action of Morales de Toro. Served also in the campaign of 1815, including
the battle of Quatre Bras; commanded the rear regiment of the Column on the retreat during the following
day ; and, at the battle of Waterloo, he led the 18th Hussars in the brilliant charge of Sir Hussey Vivian’s
Brigade, at the conclusion of the action.
3 Lt -Col. Steuart served with the 14th Lt. Drs. in the Punjaub campaign of 1848-9, including the battles
of Chillianwallah (sabre wound) and Goojerat, pursuit of the enemy across the Jhelum, and of the Affghans
over the Indus through the Khyber Pass (Medaland Clasps).
6 Major Wilmer served with the 16th Lancers throughout the campaign in Affghanistan in 1838 and
39, including the siege and capture of Ghuznee (Medal). He was also present in the action of Maharajpore,
29th Dec. 1843 (Medal). He served witlr the 14th Lt. Drs. throughout the Punjaub campaign of 1848-9,
including the action of Ramnuggur, passage of the Chenab, battles of Chillianwallah and Goojerat, pursuit
of the enemy across the Jhelum, and of the Atfghans over the Indus and through the Khyber Pass (Medal
