P^^FACE.
The want of a suitable Directory for such
an important town as Stirling has long been felt, not
only by those engaged in business in the tovra itself,
but by persons living at a distance, and others who
visit the neighbourhood occasionally. It is hoped that
this little Work will be found useful in supplying
this necessity, and a ford a ready reference to all v:ho
nmy have occasion to consult it.
Considerable pains have been taken to furnish
correct lists under the several divisions; and the
Publishers will feel much obliged by being made auure
of any changes or alterations that m/xy take place,
and vjhich may be reclconed necessary to be noted for
correction in future yearly editions.
