Passengers having opportunity of taking care of their own Lug-
age, the Company will not be answerable for any, except Receipt is
granted, and Freight paid for it.
Measurable goods carried between Dundee and London, to pay at
the rate of 2s. 6,d. per barrel-bulk; between Dundee and Glasgow,
2s. 9d. ; and between Dundee and Perth, Is. Weighable Goods to be
charged by the gross weight ; and all measurable goods by the actual
measurement. The Rates to be understood as from the Wharf at
London, and from Port-Dundas to the Harbour of Dundee ; and
from the Harbour of Dundee to the Harbour at Perth ; and vice versa,
i^when the obligation on the Ship is to cease. Freights payable on
delivery of the Goods ; and no deduction to be made from the Rates.
The Company will pay no Damage on Goods by their Vessels, unless
where it has been occasioned by neglect in stowing the cargo. The
Shippers of Horses, Cows, &c., to defray the expense of their pro-
vender, and fitting up stalls for them.
Goods by the Glasgow Traders, shipped or landed in any part of
the, Canal, to pay the full Glasgow Rates; and Goods shipped or
landed at Grangemouth, to pay two-thirds.
The Company are not accountable for leakage, damage, or waste,
occasioned by insufficiency of packages ; nor for bi'eakage or waste
of Lump Sugars, or other Articles shipped loose ; breakage of Glass,
Bottles, or Earthenware; nor for loss or damage on Goods after
being landed on the Quays.
Goods consigned to order, or warehoused for convenience of the
parties to whom they are consigned, are entirely at their risk. All
Goods are held subject to a lein in favour of the Shipowners generally,
not only for the Freight and Charges thereon, but for all previously
unsettled Freights and Charges. Goods going to or coming from
London, Glasgow, Liverpool, and Leith, by the Company's Vessels,
to be taken on board the Perth Lighters in preference to other goods.
