Home to Scotland (after he had been Captive in England

Arbroath assisting the Ogilvies against the Lindsays upon the

LAURENCE OLIPHANT is Son to the foresaid John, as appears
from a Gift by King James the Second to Sir David Hay of
Yester of the Waird and Marriage of Laurence Oliphant son
and heir to umquhil John Oliphant of Aberdalgie Knight
Anno (from that Gift in Tweeddale's Hands) .

HE got a Seasine of the Lands of Achterhous, wherein he
is designed a Noble and Worshipfull Man Laurence Lord
Oliphant and Aberdagie Anno . .

THIS Laurence (in all Probability) the First Lord Oliphant
got a Bond thus, We George Abbot of Inshaweray oblige
ourself to make Laurence Lord Oliphant our Bailzie of all the
Lands of the said Abbacy all the Days of his Life within
Twenty Days after we are admitted to the Spirituality by the
Judge Ordinar and by the King to the Temporality of the
said Abbacy. Date at Edr the 25th of January

HE got a Charter of Confirmation (of a Charter granted
him by Walter Ogilvie) of the Lands of Oures in Kincardin
