110 REPORT OF THE INDIAN HEMP DRUGS COMMISSION, 1893-94. [APP.
So by stopping the use of
the drug those who use majum would not suffer. The only
people
who might be discontented would be mendicants and a few Marwaris,
who would console
themselves with opium as a substitute, which would be beneficial in
comparison to the drug,
which is injurious."
Any reforms or
improvement for
controlling the cultivation of the hemp
plant and the manufacture, sale and
taxation of hemp-drug?
No Deputy Commissioners
have suggested any improvements desirable. The only
thing that was needed has
been already effected. From the
next year the farm of these
drugs will be sold separately
from the opium farm.
