BONAPARTE;
OR, THE
THREATEN' D INVASION.
TUNE—BOW WOW, FAL LAL, &C.
COME, liſten every Lord and Lady,
Gentleman and Statesman,
I come to ſing a LITTLE SONG
about a very GREAT MAN !
And ſhould the name of BONAPARTE
mingle in my ſtory,
'T is with all due ſubmiſſion to his
honour's worſhip's glory.
Bow wow, fal lal, &c.
The kindneſs of this philanthropic
gentleman extending,
COLOSSUS like, from iſle to iſle,
their grievances amending.
To England would reach it (if he could)
from fancied ills to ſave ye ;
But though he likes us vaſtly well,
" he does not like our NAVY !" &c.
With Egypt once he fell in love,
becauſe it was the high road
To India, for himſelf and friends
to travel by a nigh road ;
And after ſuch a mighty fuſs,
and righting night and day there,
'T was monſtrours ungenteel of us,
that would not let him ſtay there. &c.
