48. The districts of Multan, Muzaffargarh, Dera Ghazi Khan, Shahpur
and Gujranwala suffered much, especially the newly irrigated areas. A
reference to the severe epidemic in the Shahpur Irrigation Division is made in
the Drainage Report of the Lower Jhelum Circle for the monsoon of 1917.
