                   A Friend at STIRLING.

        Sir,
I Am oblig'd to you for the Care you exepreſs of my Con-
ſcience and Reputation, in relation to my joining with thoſe
you are pleas'd to call The Rebels. If I ſhould return
your Compliment in your own Te ms, you would think I
trifled with you, which I have no mind to do: But I hope,
you will give me Leave to argue a little, in my own Vindica-
tion, from the Topic, which, by your own Confeſſion, was
the Prevailing Argument with you, (and I know with others
too) to approve, or join with the Revolution; viz. The Dan-
ger the
Church of England was in from King James VII's
Adminiſtration. I ſhall not, at preſent, enter into the Con-
