to his ſervice & haldin thairin be concupiſcence
of the fieſche, the concupiſcence of the ee, and be
pryde of lyfe. Of the deuillir kingdome ſpeikis
ſanct Paule to the Epheſianis, ſayand: Vos con
uiuificauit, cũ effetis mortui delictis et peccatis ve-
ſtris, in quibus aliquãdo ambulaſtis, fecund ũ feculũ
mundi huius, fecundum principem poteſtatis aeris
huius ſpiritus, qui nunc operatur in filios diffidi.
God (ſais ſanct Paule) hes quicknit zow, quhen
re wer dede throw treſpas and ſynnis, quhairin
in tyme bygane, re reid according to the courſe
of this warld, eftir ỷ prince yat rewlis in yis aer
quhilk is ane ſpreit that now workis in the chil-
der of bnbeleif. This is the devil quhom our
ſalviour callis the prince of this warld, that is
to ſay, of all evil gevin pepil of the warld. And
yat haly man Job callis him ỷ king of all proud
men. Now let us ſpeik of the kingdom of god,
quhilk for your inſtruction may be dividit in it
kingdomes, the ane is the kingdome of grace in
this world, the uthir is the kingdome of glore in
the world to cum. Gyfre wald knaw quhat is
the kingdome of grace, ſanct Paule deſcriuis it
plamely, ſayand thus: Regnum dei eſt iuſtitia, et
pax et gaudium in ſpiritu ſãcto. The kingdom of
God is rychteouſnes, paice and ioye in the haly
ſpreit. For quhen a chriſtin man is iuſtify it be
a ne leiffand faith, he leiffis in paice with God, &
h es gret reſt and tranquilitie in his conſcience,
e hes gret ioy and blythnes, quhilk the halye
ſpreit
