A New National Anthem.

                                          Tune :—National Anthem.

The end of
Queen
Victoria's
Reign

       AND THE
Beginning of
King
Edward's
Reign.

God bless our gracious King!
If 'tis Thy blessed will,

            Long may he reign ;
Thy wisdom to him give,
Direct him how to live,
And give him grace and faith

            And godly fear.

Confound our enemies ;
Frustrate their fiendish tricks,

            And bring them down.
Let truth and right now reign,
Nor let deceit prevail
In these beloved Isles,

            God save our King !

Let kings and nations bow
To Thee, our glorious Lord

            And King of Kings ;
To Thee we look and pray
Do Thou the sceptre sway ;
And make Thy foes obey,

            Whilst Edward reigns.

In heaven, and earth below,
Thy might and power are known ;
            Through Thee we live ;
But ah ! the hour is nigh,
And soon we all must die,
And spend an endless day

            In bliss or woe.

By Thee kings live and reign ;
Thy word this truth declares

            Oh ! may we pray
For England's greatness, still
The Bible we will bring,
And solemnly proclaim :

            The secret's here.
