BEACONSFIELD FOR EVER !

GRAND
CONSERVATIVE
DEMONSTRATION
AT POHONA GARDENS.
In praise of the Earl of Beaconsfield
I am about to sing,
The fame that cannot be concealed
Some thousands here will bring ;
In the Pomona Gardens
Conservatives are seen,
Cheering to their heart's content
For our country and our Queen.
So all rejoice with heart and voice,
Conservatives I say,
And for Salisbury, Cross and Stanley
Give a hearty lond huzza.
Let's cheer the Earl of Salisbury
For the wisdom he has shown,
He's made the name of England
Respected, it is known ;
With his gallant chief, Disraeli,
They stopp'd the Russian Bear,
Or else Constantinople would
Be blown into the air.
The Zulus are defeated,
And the Afghan troops as well,
To think it is completed
Makes the Liberals scream and yell ;
They haven't a leg to stand upon,
They are nearly on their knees,
They're as fidgetty as a tabby cat
Tormented by the fleas.
There's gallant Colonel Stanley,
A genuine Lanky lad,
He's always straight and manly,
And he drives the Liberals mad ;
He struggles for the principles
Which Britons hold most dear,
And will never turn his back upon
The men of Lancashire.
They've come from Preston, Blacburn
And Accrington won't fail,
They'll come from Rochdale, Bury,
And all parts of Rossendale :
From Ashton, Hyde, and Stalybridge,
From Stockport, too, likewise,
They'll come to meet our leaders,
And our enemies surprise.
So all you true Conservatives,
Come buckle on your shield,
Let your voices sound and rally round
Our good friend, Benconsfield.
The Liberals are quaking
And trembling with fear,
For they'll get a regular knock-down
blow
From the men of Lancashire.
