    LINES WRITTEN ON THE
         HOLY MISION OF
            MULLINGAR

Ye Roman Cntholicks ro nd this dioces
Pray lend your aid to those lines I write,
On these holy Fathers & pious Clergy
Whom our holy Bishop did of late invite,
To preach the gospel from its full founda-
tion'
Like the great St Patrick in the days of yore
And to do pennance for past transgresions,
And promise them to sin nomore,

Thir hearts regaining from early morning
Until late eveing & long day,
To see us crouding round their tribunials
And hefore the Alter in p ous prayer
The teach us daily to pray to Mary
As the Angelous Bell does sweetly sound
May God reward and their flocks regard tem
They are faithful friends to the church of
Rome,

Long live Father muldoon & Farher martin
And bless'd Father Sagharty of great renon
And bloss'd fvther kelly & likewis ather
Banon,
Long may they live in mnllingar town
There is another pastor that I should men-
tion,
For he spares no labor yet his time,
But is daily teaching & constaut preaohing
Bless'd Father Gaffney that pnre devine,

The croods each night is a glorious sight,
As they do the chapel so daily th ong
With voice melodions like Angels Chorous
With splendid music & sacred songs'
Our holy Fathers may the lord reward
They are the friends of poor Erins shore.
And in return for their pious labours,
W'll abide by them now & for evermore,

The faith's Saint Patrick oace Preach'd n
Erin
From its sure paths we ne'ar did stray,
Without slain or blemish we did preserve it
And will so so til the judgment day
Alronod this town we are all rejoicimg,
Since these bleess'd enointed amongst us
In future ages they will be recorded
Vnd the chilpd u born will reverve their
names,

But when thhy are going i s nhen we'll
To thin from ns they must part
But let us remambar their pious lectures,
And blessings brosght round the parish
large,
They Saintt in Heaven are now rejoioing
Siucf our conversion is now resthred,
Let ys Pray sincerely to the Virgin Mary,
To be our protector for evermore.
