     (2) Twelve essential oils, five proprietary preparations, one
cinchona product, and two bitter infusions were examined for their
protective power against the bites of mosquitoes.

     (3) Oils were experimented with to prevent the invasion of
food by ants.

   Identification of Mosquitocs.—Fourteen specimens of culicines and
anophelines were received from 19 stations in Burma for identifica-
tion.

   Training in Anti-mosquito Work.—One sanitary inspector from a tea
garden and three sanitary inspectors employed by the Port Trust,
Rangoon, were given a course of instruction for one month in mosquito
prevention.

   Publications.—The following papers or articles were published in
the Indian Medical Gazette:—

      (a) "On the Analysis of Ointments of the British Pharma-
copœia," by E. H. Bunce, F.I.C., F.C.S.

      (b) "Observations on the Composition of Human Milk in
Burma," by Mr. E. H. Bunce, F.I.C., F.C.S.
