      MADRAS,                                              (signed)            W. S. MURRAY, A.M., M.B.,
24th June 1880.                                                                            Dy. Surgeon-Genl, A.M.D.,     President.
                                                                     (    "    )             W. MACRAE, A.M., M.B.,
                                                                                                            Surgeon, 2nd District,
                                                                      (    "    )             A. H. LEAPINGWELL,                   Members.
                                                                                                 Superintendent, Lunatic Asylum,

       * N.B.—As I understand the meaning of the foot-note this candidate would pass in accordance with the alternative
it presents, viz., of having obtained either one-third of the marks on each subject or half of the aggregate number.
It is read differently, however, by the other members, and the Principal of the Medical College states the custom to
have been that the candidate must obtain one-third of the marks on each subject as well as half of the aggregate
number to entitle him to pass.
                                               (Signed)       W. S. MURRAY, A.M., M.B., Dy. Surgeon-Genl., A.M.D.,
                                                                                                                                                            President.
