and the deaths.39 per cent. of strength.
Next in frequency to malarial fevers
come diseases of the eye, rheumatism
and skin diseases. The casualties were
due to malarial fevers, diseases of the
lungs, continued fevers and diarrhœa.

causes of admission, as well as the first
place among the causes of mortality;
the other principal causes of admissions
and mortality were continued fevers,
dysentery and diseases of the eye on
the one hand, and diseases of the lungs,
dysentery, continued fever and rheuma-
tism on the other.
