Newlands (127) | Mr. M.—Assistant .. | Sept. 1902 .. | Sept. 1903 .. | Patient was then nearly two years in the country. Had been getting fever and ague some time before attack. Had taken large doses of quinine at inter- vals of two or three days. Second attack more severe. Had not had "fever" until three days before attack. Had taken no quinine since last attack which had been supposed to be quinine poisoning. Black-water lasted 4 days. The situation of the bungalow was bad, drainage difficult and coolie lines near. Recovered. |
Rydak (128) | Mrs. S.— Aged 35 .. | Feb. 1907 .. | .. | Had an attack of Black-water Fever on the way home after leaving Rydak. Had been in the Duars nearly 3 years. Had spleen and slightly enlarged liver and was anæmic, but had not com- plained much of fever before the attack of Black-water Fever. Case also given by Elwyn- Jones. |
