       The diseases treated have been mostly of a mild type, and no ease of virulent
form of disease came under observation.

XI.—How far dhaies have been employed and with what success.

       Dhaies have not been employed in connection with the lock-hospital.

XII.—Any information on other matters or suggestions for the improvement of the rules.

Conservancy.—The dry-earth system is carried out in the latrine efficiently.

           Expenditure.—The expenditure during 1880 has been Rs. 2,508-13-9, being
Rs. 373-14-8 more than 1879, due to the hospital assistant's pay being wholly
debited to the lock-hospital instead of, as in previous years, half of the salary only.

       The receipts from fines by the Magistrate were, Rs. 10 only.

       The average cost per patient was Rs. 40-13-9, against Rs. 36-12-1: this
enhanced rate is due to the higher rate of salary of the hospital assistant as
above described, while the establishment remained the same and the number of
admissions decreased.

       Visitors'-book.—The general tenor of remarks is that the institution is kept
clean and in good order.

       The hospital was inspected by the Deputy Surgeon-General, British Burma
division, and also by the Chief Commissioner, British Burma.
