amongst the soldiers and the registered women. So that secondary results are, it appears,
by consensus of opinion, becoming rare in this province—a result in marked con-
trast with the record to be found at paragraph 18 of this year's report, wherein the
Medical Officer calls attention to the fact, that of 28 cases of disease contracted in
England and imported into India, 27 resulted in secondary syphilis—whereas, of
262 cases contracted at Meerut, not one resulted in that way. Of all the facts recor-
ded in this series of reports, there is not one that can compare with this for value.
