dogs were slightly sick and no veterinary surgeon
was called in [Walch-Sorgdrager, 1939]. Van der
Walle [1939] records the recovery of Lept. cani-
cola
from the kidneys of a six-year-old fox-hound
which had been regarded as healthy. There is
at present no record of the isolation of Lept.
canicola
in this country.
