number of cases treated was 1,574 against 1,392 last year. In-patients
88, Pinjrapole in-patients 33, out-patients
1,453. Out of the above number, 612
were horses, 554 cattle, and the remain-
der goats, sheep, etc. The Veterinary
Graduate attended the weekly cattle
markets and removed two bullocks
suffering from foot and mouth disease.
He also attended an outbreak of Variola
Vaccinia at the village of Hansol, of which 27 died out of 87 attacked. He
paid 141 visits to owners' houses, attended the Government stallions, and visited
the Pinjrapole regularly once a week. The report is most satisfactory, and it
is evident that the institution is gaining in popularity and is managed in a
zealous and efficient manner—

Veterinary Graduate Patel, Kaira Itinerating Dispensary.—The total
number of cases treated during the year
was 719 against 925 last year; the
decrease is due to the fact that the Veteri-
nary Graduate was in charge of the
stationary Veterinary dispensary for two
months. The itinerating Veterinary
Graduate made his head-quarters at
Anand during the rains, and this arrange-
ment, judging from results, appears satisfactory. Out of the above number, 59
were horses, 597 cattle, and the remainder goats, sheep, etc. He attended
outbreaks of Rinderpest at six villages in the Mater Taluk, 370 animals being-
attacked, out of which 154 were cured, and the remainder died. He also
attended an outbreak of Gloss Anthrax at Chalati, and out of 8 animals 1 died
and 7 were cured. The same unnecessary delay appears to have been caused,
as was noticed last year, owing to the village authorities not reporting out-
breaks to the Veterinary Graduate at once. The Graduate attended the
Government stallions, and the work done is satisfactory.
