§Tetanus. |
(a) The figures for equines only relate to non-selected districts, the municipality of Lahore and the Rawalpindi-Kohala Tonga road, except where cases are treated in Veterinary Hospitals and Dispensaries in selected districts.
(b) There is no system of registration in force in Burma. Military Police register 38 deaths, viz.:—Glanders 2, Anthrax 5. Surra 29. Dourine 1, other contagious diseases 1.
(c) The number (4,205) reported by Burma has been omitted in this Return as the figures are unreliable, the Superintendent remarking as follows :—" These diseases are not differentiated by villagers, but are considered as different manifestations of
anthrax."
(d) Includes 12,342 for which no details are available.
(e) Includes 35 miscellaneous, 366 goats and 1 elephant, total 403.
