Severe colic followed and the pony died on 19th October
1908.

At the time of publication of this Memoir, June 1909, the
following ponies are still under daily observations :—Nos. 288,
292, 285, 283, 260, 263, 245, 247, 249 and 250.

orpiment. The maximum amount which the heaviest horse
treated by us could stand was 3 gms.

This is explained by the fact that the French Authors
used "Orpiment Precipite," while we employed commercial
samples of the drug, and of this there are two samples ; one
