PREFACE.

    This volume contains the orders of the Government of India
in regard to the organization, administration and functions of the
veterinary service of the army in India.

    Commanders are responsible that these regulations and orders
are strictly observed and that any local instructions which may
be issued are guided by their spirit and intention.

    Officers are expected to interpret these regulations reaso naby
and intelligently and with due regard to the interests of the service,
bearing in mind that no attempt has been made to provide for
necessary and self-evident exceptions.

    All previous orders on the subjects with which these regula-
tions deal, are hereby cancelled.
