                              Buildings

24. The following additions and alterations are very
urgently required in the veterinary buildings in the North-
West Frontier Province:—

      Dera Ismail Khan.—Dog kennels are required.

      Bannu.—A contagious ward for dogs should be
            provided.

      Kohat.—Dog ward required. The hospital should be
            built according to the standard plan. It is very
            small and situated at a distance from the stallion
            stables. Both of them should be in one
            compound.

      Teri.—The buildings stand in urgent need of repairs.
            A colic shed should be provided.

      Peshawar.—The hospital will have more protection
            if the remaining half of the compound wall is
            raised like the other half.

      Mardan.—Zamindar quarters urgently needed.

      Swabi.—Zamindar quarters urgently needed.

      Nowshera.—Compounder quarters and zamindar
            quarters required.

      Abbottabad —There should be a purdah wall in front
            of the servants' quarters, and the yard before the
            Veterinary Assistant's quarters should be widened.

Stud bulls.—Table VIII.

25. At the close of the year under report there were
38 bulls working in the circle against
45 bulls at the end of previous year.
(The number now given in column 2 of the table, that is, 49
includes 4 buffaloe-bulls belonging to Peshawar District.)
No new additions were made during this or the previous
year and there were 11 casualties against the same number
in 1923-24.

Four bulls belonging to Dera Ismail Khan District, that
is, 2 of Dhanni breed, 1 of Dajil and 1 of Montgomery
breeds were made over during the year to the local
gaushala.
