In addition, a number of intestinal and other parasites were received,
amined and stocked in the laboratory.

37.    The two small laboratories attached to the offices of the 2nd and
d superintendents are doing good work.

38.    Satisfactory work has also been carried out at the Research Sta-
m where 82 cases were under observation and treated with satisfactory
suit. A sura of Rs. 253 was realized as treatment charges from the
mers of the animals.

39.    Cattle poisoning.—Fifteen cases of criminal cattle poisoning were
ported from six districts. These were investigated and handed over to
e police to deal with.

40.     Veterinary Hospitals and Dispensaries.—There arc now 120
ispitals and dispensaries including the two in the Fatehpur district which
ere abolished in March last, as compared with 121 of last year. showing
increase of five. The Jhansi dispensary which was abolished in Decem-
r, 1922, has been reopened and new institutions have been established

Manranipur and Lalitpur (Jhansi), Sikandrabad (Bulandshahr), Dalman
Rae Bareli), and Patti (Partabgarh).

41.    It is very enconraging to record that the total number of cases
ated during the year at these institutions were : — Out-patients 162,864
d in-patients 7,138 making a total of 170,002, an increase of 11,004 on
t year's return. In addition to this 2,600 animals were castrated and
dicines were supplied for 18,038 cases which were not brought to the
capitals.

42. I regret to have again to report that the District Board of Fateh-
tir have abolished two dispensaries for want of funds in spite of protests
y this department.

                            III.—BREEDING OPERATIONS.
