                    GENERAL REMARKS.

42.     Major W. H. Priston, who proceeded on leave preparatory
to retirement retired on proportionate pension on July 22, 1931.

43.     The introduction of the revised rules relating to the veteri-
nary staff employed in the districts has given a wide scope to the
district boards in the matter of granting leave and making new
appointments. It is hoped that this will facilitate joint co-operation
between the district boards and the departmental officers in further
advancing the cause of the veterinary activities in the future.
