Four bucks and 6 nanny goats were exhibited at the goat show
organized in connexion with the All-India Cattle Show at Delhi. 3
first, 1 second and 3 third prizes were awarded.

                                      IV—Sheep-breeding

36. The breeding experiments at the Government Sheep Farm,
Bodhpura, district Jalaun, continued as outlined in the original breeding
policy, e.g. of cross-breeding local ewes with the Bikaner rams. The
following table shows the breeding results :

To arrive at a definite conclusion it will be necessary to continue
this experiment for some time. The second generation shows marked
improvement in the progeny and the quality of the wool.

In order to improve the quality and quantity of wool in other suitable
localities rams were issued to :

Sheep-pox contiuned to give trouble and occurred twice during the
year on the farm. As a prophylactic measure ovination of 122 sheep was
carried out with a sheep-pox vaccine prepared by the Imperial Veterinary
Research Institute, Mukteswar. The Deputy Director, Imperial Vete-
rinary Research Institute, Mukteswar, also visited the farm and observed
the reactions.
