                                      (4) Fairs and Shows.

See Table XIV.

11. Owing to scarcity of grass and fodder the annual cattle fair at
Pushkar had to be abandoned.

                  IV.—SUBORDINATE ESTABLISHMENT.

12. The subordinate establishment consisted of 3 Veterinary Assistants
as in the previous year. Their work has been shown under head "Veterinary
Dispensaries".

                V.—EEXPENDITURE OF THE DEPARTMENT.

See Table XIV-A.

13.    The expenditure incurred from Local Funds during the year was
Rs. 4,184-12-0 against an expenditure
of Rs. 5,118-2-11 in the previous year.
The decrease is due to the abandonment of the horse and cattle fair at Pushkar.

                                  VI.—GENERAL REMARKS.

14.    It is obviously impossible for one Superintendent to supervise veteri-
nary work in three provinces.

Owing to expansion of the veterinary departments in Baluchistan and
Sind the Superintendent's time is fully taken up in these provinces and the
control he can exercise over veterinary work in Rajputana is merely
nominal.

                        Superintendent, Civil Veterinary Department,
                                                    Sind, Baluchistan and Rajputana.
