          V.—EXPENDITURE OF THE DEPARTMENT.

19.  Table XIV-A.—The expenditure of the department during the year
was Rs. 6,072 as against Rs. 8,293 in the previous year.

                     VI.—GENERAL REMARKS.

20.  As remarked in the last year's annual administration report more
Veterinary Assistant Surgeons and dispensaries are badly needed in the
province and although a scheme for the formation of a properly organised
Veterinary Department was under the consideration of Government, it could
not be brought into force on account of financial stringency.
