                            (iv) OTHER DISEASES.

8. Table IV.—The number of villages visited by the Veterinary Assistant
Surgeons, Ajmer and Beawar, was 132 against 126 in the previous year. They
treated 634 animals for contagious diseases, 24 for non-contagious diseases
and castrated 73 animals as against 96 animals treated for contagious and 55
for non-contagious diseases in the previous year.

                  (v) HOSPITALS AND DISPENSARIES.

9. Table V.As in the previous year, there were two Veterinary Dispen-
saries in the Province during the year under report. The number of cases
treated was 5,222 as against 4,617 in the previous year. Medicines and
advice were given to the owners of 439 animals not brought to the dispen-
saries as against 1,223 in the previous year. The practice of supplying
medicines without seeing the case has been discouraged. Three equines, 41
bovines and 43 other animals were castrated as against one equine, 2 bovines
and 30 other animals in the previous year.

10. Ajmer Veterinary Hospital.—Khan Saheb Abdul Haq held charge
throughout the year. The number of animals treated at this hospital was
4,364 (817 in-patients and 3,547 out-patients) as against 3,587 (784 in-
patients and 2,803 out-patients) in the previous year. 43 other animals were
castrated as against 1 equine, 2 bovines and 30 other animals in the previous
year.

11. Beawar Veterinary Hospital.—Mr. Udharam K. Asnani held charge
throughout the year. The number of animals treated at this hospital was
858 (62 in-patients and 796 out-patients) as against 1,030 (21 in-patients and
1,009 out-patients) treated in the previous year. Besides, 3 equines and 41
bovines were castrated as against none last year.

                            III.—Breeding Operations.

12. No breeding operations are carried out in the province by the Civil
Veterinary Department.

                            FAIRS AND SHOWS.

13. Table XIII.—The horse and pony show at Pushkar was held in
November 1932. 161 animals competed for prizes and a sum of Rs. 559
and a silver medal were awarded.

14. Table XIV.—Cattle show. The cattle show was held at Pushkar in
conjunction with the horse show. 126 animals competed for prizes and
Rs. 426 were awarded.
