26.  Table XIV.—In the cattle show held at Pushkar in conjunction with
the Horse and Pony show, 245 animals (cattle and camels) competed for and
Rs. 412 were awarded as prizes, as against 166 animals and Rs. 407 awarded
in the previous year.

        IV.—SUBORDINATE VETERINARY ESTABLISHMENT.

27.  Table VII.—The subordinate staff employed was 3 Veterinary
Assistant Surgeons, the same number as in the previous year. All 3 Veteri-
nary Assistant Surgeons worked well.

            V.—EXPENDITURE OF THE DEPARTMENT.

28.  Table XIV.—The expenditure of the Department during the year
was Rs. 10,467 as against Rs. 11,546 in the previous year.

                        VI.—GENERAL REMARKS.

29.  The Imperial Council of Agricultural Research, has sanctioned the
appointment of a Veterinary Investigation Officer for Sind and Ajmer-Merwara,
with head quarters at Karachi.
