There is an increase of 55 colts during the year if compared with the corre-
sponding figures of 1889-90.

Besides this the Ahmednagar salutri castrated 146 colts from the Remount
Depôt, Ahmednagar. He has been engaged at the Depôt since October 1890.
He is required to treat the Depôt horses during my absence from head-quarters, as
there is no other efficient qualified man on the Depôt establishment to do the work;
therefore he has been unable to tour in the district with a view to castrating
any breeder's colts.

I may state here that the abovementioned salutri was formerly in the
Poona District, but, being a good and successful castrator, I had him exchanged
to assist at the Depôt.

121. The number and classes of donkey stallions
present on the registers on the 1st of April 1890 was
