This shows a decrease of Rs. 63, due to the reduction in prices of almost all
articles of food owing to an abundant rainfall last year.

There is a general decrease in the cost of feed and keep of stallions through-
out the Presidency except at Sholápur and Ahmedabad, where a small increase is
noticed. The cost of maintaining a pony is again greater than that of a horse in
the districts of Sátára and Kaira and is due to the same fact as noted last year,
viz., that the price of fodder was higher at the pony-stands, Dahivadi and
Nadiád, than at the horse-stands, Vita and Kaira.
