The total number of eases treated at the dispensary was 1,565 as against 1,338
last year, an increase of 227. Of these 204 were equines, 1,283 bovines, and 78
others. In addition to the above number the Veterinary Graduate treated 314
animals for contagious diseases, 517 for non-contagious diseases and castrated
one horse and 6 bulls while on tour. He performed four post mortem examina-
tions. The cattle population within the radius of five miles of the dispensary
amounts to 5,428 and the number of cattle treated at the dispensary is 1,283,
giving a percentage of 23.65. Fees are levied at this dispensary.

17.    Násik Dispensary.—Veterinary Graduate R. Reuben was in charge
from 1st April to 15th December 1907 when he proceeded on leave and Veteri-
nary Graduate G. R. Jog acted for him during the remaining part of the year.
The dispensary was inspected on 2nd October 1907. The total number of cases
treated during the year was 2,603 as against 3,266 last year, a decrease of 663
which is mainly attributed to the non-prevalence of rinderpest in the town of
Násik as well as in the surrounding villages. Of the total number treated, 558
were equines, 1,693 bovines, and 352 others. The Veterinary Graduate attended
the horses of the Mounted Police and the Pinjrapole animals and. inspected the
Government stallion at Násik frequently. The cattle population within the
radius of five miles from Násik is 5,705 and the number of cattle treated is 1,693,
giving a percentage of 29.67. Pees are levied at this dispensary.

18.    Násik Itinerating Dispensary.—Veterinary Graduate H. R. Kshirsagar
held charge during the year. The dispensary was inspected on 2nd October 1907.
The total number of cases treated during the year is 1,744 as against 1,483 last
year, an increase of 261. Of these 71 were equines, 1,623 bovines, and 50
others. The Veterinary Graduate visited 33 villages in order to attend out-
breaks of foot and mouth disease, rinderpest and Black quarter, and inoculated
345 animals against rinderpest. Besides this he visted 103 villages for other
purposes such as treating ordinary cases on tour, and attended weekly cattle
markets at Yeola, Malegaon, Sinnar, to see if any contagious disease existed.
He also inspected Government stallions at Yeola and Malegaon several times.

19. Ahmednagar Dispensary.—Veterinary Graduate A. D. Lopez held
charge during the year except the period during which he was undergoing a
course of training in anti-rinderpest inoculation at Bareilly when Veterinary
Graduate Washikar was in charge. The dispensary was inspected on 17th July
1907. The total number of cases treated was 1,255 as against 358 treated in
five months of last year. Of these 198 were equines, 936 bovines, and 121
others. In addition to this the Veterinary Graduate visited 14 villages to attend
outbreaks of contagious diseases and inoculated 474 cattle against rinderpest.
He also visited cattle fairs and treated 139 cattle in the district. The cattle
population within the radius of five miles from the dispensary is 5,042 and the
number of cattle treated is 936 which gives a percentage of 18.54. Treatment
is free to all at this dispensary.

20. Ahmednagar (Miri) Itinerating Dispensary.—Veterinary Graduate
G. A, Washikar held charge during the year excepting the period from 1st May
to 10th October when he had to take leave without pay on account of illness
and from 15th November to 31st December when he was deputed to Bareilly
to attend the course of instruction in anti-rinderpest inoculation, and from
27th January to 5th March 1905 when he was acting for Mr. Lopez at the
Ahmednagar dispensary. No substitute was entertained during Mr. Washi-
kar's absence and the dispensary was thus open for work for 117 days only.
The number of eases treated was 232 (being 93 at Miri and 139 in. the district)
as against 224 last year. Of these 41 were equines; 180 bovines, and 11 others.
The Veterinary Graduate visited outbreaks of contagious diseases and inoculated
551 animals against rinderpest. He visited the cattle markets at Pachegaon,
Ghodegaon, Kukane, and Pathardi twice a month, and attended and acted as
one of the judges at the Sangamner cattle show.

21. Ahmednagar (Shrigonda) Itinerating Dispensary.—This is a second
itinerating dispensary newly opened on 21st May 1907 with its head-quarters at
