17.    The College Buildings.—During the year the ordinary
current repairs to the college buildings were carried out.

18.    Extra Duties.—Mr. Hewlett attended the Veterinary
Conference held in Calcutta from 26th February to 2nd March and
he also served as President of the Board of Examiners at the
Madras Veterinary College Examinations from 19th to 28th March

19.    General Remarks.—During the year Government were
pleased to sanction a revision of the scale of scholarships to be
awarded to students coming from the Presidency proper. The
amount being raised from Rs. 20 to Rs. 30 and the number reduced
from 21 to 14. It is hoped that this arrangement will induce suitable
youths to come forward to undergo the course of study.

20.     The Principal desires to record his appreciation of the
work of all the officers connected with the College.

21.    The Principal regrets to have to record the death from
plague of the Head Clerk Mr. B. R. Pansare which took place
shortly after the close of the year.
