and 26 passed. The percentages therefore this year for the three
classes were 76.66, 74.28, 63.41, respectively as against 64.29,
77.27 and 75.61 last year and on the total 70.75 as against 72.53.

6.    Of the 118 students on the rolls at the commencement of the
1st Session (June) ten students discontinued the course on account of
ill health and family circumstances and 4 left the College having
passed the Sppplementary Final Examination. There were thus
104 students names on the rolls at the end of the year as against
98 at the commencement.

7.    There were five scholarships vacant at the commencement of
the Collegiate year, viz., 4 for youths from the Presidency proper
and 1 for youths from Sind. These vacancies were due to the
scholars having graduated in April. The Principal awarded four
scholarships to students from the Presidency proper. The Com-
missioner in Sind did not send any scholar. There were in all 14
scholars from the Presidency proper (including 10 already studying
at the College) and 5 from Sind.

The Central Provinces Government continued stipends to 11
scholars already studying at the College and sent 6 more scholars.
Baroda state continued stipends to two scholars already in the College
and sent one more scholar. Gwalior state continued stipends to two
scholars already in the College. Kolhapur and Barwani states each
sent one scholar. The states of Jamkhandi and Miraj and the
Deccan Maratha Education Association continued stipends to their
scholars. There were thus 46 students in receipt of some assistance
from scholarships and 58 without such assistance at the end of
the year.

8.    The Students' Hostel.—The College Hostel was fully occupied.
All arrangements regarding the Hostel were satisfactorily carried
out by Mr. Miranda.

9.    The Students' Gymkhana.—Football, Hockey, Tennis and
Cricket were played as usual and matches against outside teams
were arranged as in previous years. Athletic sports were held
as usual.

10.     Riding Class, Drill, etc.—The Final year students went
through the usual course of equitation at His Excellency the
Governor's Body Guard's Riding School at Mahalaxmi and other
students were put through a course of physical drill by Staff-
Sergeant Farrier Burt, the Instructor of Shoeing.

11.    Excursion of Students.—The Final year students visited the
Agricultural Exhibition held at Ahmedabad in November and the
Local Excursions were made as usual.

12.    The Health of Students.—The health of students on the
whole was good. The Medical Officer attended regularly.

13.    Discipline.—The attendance of students at Lectures,
Demonstrations and clinical classes was satisfactory and they were
all well behaved.
