8.    Hæmorrhagic Septicæmia.—Eighty-one outbreaks were
reported from all the districts with 948 attacks and 868 deaths
as against 160 outbreaks, 1,901 attacks and 1,731 deaths.

9.    Foot-and-Mouth Disease.—1,744 head of cattle were attacked
in 31 outbreaks in the Karachi, Hyderabad, Tharparkar, Nawab-
shah, Sukkur and Upper Sind Frontier districts. Of these 34
animals died.

10.    Black-quarter.—The disease was reported from Karachi and
Nawabshah districts. Forty-one animals were affected with
40 deaths.

11.    Anthrax.—Two outbreaks of anthrax were reported from
Larkana district with two attacks and deaths. The disease could
not be confirmed as it was reported too late to be investigated.

12.     Other contagious diseases.—Piroplasmosis caused the death
of 3 animals out of 10 attacked. Contagious Pleuro-Pneumonia in
calves was reported from Karachi district. Seven calves died out
of 8 attacked. Liver fluke was responsible for the death of
24 animals in Hyderabad district. One case of Filaria was reported
from Hyderabad district and the animal died. Variola caused
the death of 2 animals out of 33 attacked in Sukkur district.

            (iii) Contagious disease among other animals.

13.    Rinderpest.—In 33 outbreaks, 806 sheep, goats and camels
were attacked and 394 died in the Karachi, Hyderabad, Tharparkar,
Nawabshah and Larkana districts.

14.    Foot-and-Mouth disease.—The disease was reported from
Karachi, Hyderabad, Nawabshah and Upper Sind Frontier districts.
Nineteen sheep and goats died out of 251 attacked.

15.    Surra.—Four camels were attacked. They were cured
successfully with "Naganol".

16.    Contagious Pleuro-Pneumonia.—152 sheep, goats and camels
died out of 216 attacked in 6 outbreaks in Karachi and Tharparkar
districts.

17.    Rabies.—Thirty-six dogs were attacked in Karachi, Hydera-
bad, Sukkur and Upper Sind Frontier districts. All died or were
destroyed.

18.    Other contagious diseasesPiroplasmosis.—Sixty-three dogs
were attacked and 15 died. Anthrax was reported from Tharparkar
and Nawabshah districts. 286 animals were attacked and all died.
The disease could not be confirmed as it was reported too late to be
investigated. Parasitic Gastritis—523 attacks and 258 deaths.
Mange—211 attacks and 20 deaths. Variola—105 attacks and
22 deaths. Distemper caused the death of 9 out of 47 attacked.

                         (iv) Preventive Inoculation.

19.    Table II.—In 212 outbreaks of rinderpest 14,737 animals
were inoculated with anti-rinderpest serum as compared with 9,163
