35.    Black Quarter.—Seven hundred and eighty-five outbreaks
were attended in all districts except Ahmedabad, Kaira and Kolaba.
Four thousand two hundred and thirty-nine cattle and 412 buffaloes
are reported to have died of this disease out of 4,481 cattle and 437
buffaloes attacked. The heaviest mortality was reported from
Ahmednagar (1,323), Poona (734), Sholapur (502), Satara (476) and
Belgaum (282).

36.    Anthrax.—In one hundred and sixty outbreaks
attended by the staff, 1,073 cattle and 330 buffaloes were reported to
have been attacked of which 662 cattle and 259 buffaloes died.
Ahmedabad, Kaira and Bombay Suburban were the only districts
from which this disease was not reported.

37.    Bovine Surra.—One hundred and eighty-seven cattle and
3 buffaloes are reported to have died from this disease in Kanara
and East Khandesh districts.

38.    Other Diseases.—One hundred and thirty-two cattle and
55 buffaloes are reported to have died under this head during the
year.

                Contagious Diseases of other Animals.

                              Sheep and Goats.

39.    Anthrax.—Twelve sheep from Satara district and 23 goats
from East Khandesh and Ahmednagar districts were reported to
have died from Anthrax during the year.

40.    Sheep Pox.—One thousand and fifty-two sheep were
affected with Sheep Pox in Surat, West Khandesh, Satara,
Sholapur, Bijapur and Dharwar districts of which 643 were reported
to have died.

41.    Goat Pox.—Seventy deaths were reported from Ahmednagar,
West Khandesh, Nasik, Poona, Sholapur, Belgaum and Dharwar
districts.

42.    Foot and Mouth Disease.—There were 223 attacks in sheep
and 581 attacks in goats with a mortality of four goats reported
from Kaira District.

43.    Scab.—Forty sheeps and sixty goats died in Bijapur
District.

44.    Other Diseases.—One thousand and forty-two sheep and 357
goats are reported to have died under this head in Poona,
Belgaum, Bijapur, Dharwar, Broach, Panch Mahals, Ahmednagar,
West Khandesh, Nasik and Satara Districts.

                                        Canines.

45.    Fifty-two deaths from rabies and 25 from other causes
were reported,
