ORGANIZATION OF THE SUBORDINATE ESTABLISHMENT.

3. The cadre of the Civil Veterinary Department is in accordance
with Government of India (Revenue and Agriculture Department) letter
No. 492-193, dated the 25th February 1913, constituted as follows:—

6 Deputy Superintendents at Rs. 150—10—250—20—400.

22 District Inspectors at Rs. 100—10—150.

121 Veterinary Assistants at Rs. 35 to Rs. 70.

9 Local allowances are granted as follows:—

*1 of Rs. 30 for Lecturer at the Agricultural College.

1 of Rs. 20 for the Assistant attached to the Superintendent's
office.

2 of Rs. 15 each for the Assistant in charge of the Pachmarhi

Dispensary and the Laboratory Assistant at Nagpur.

*1 of Rs. 15 for the Assistant attached to the Agriculture Depart-
ment, Nagpur.

1 of Rs. 10 for the Assistant in charge of Dindori Dispensary,

1 of Rs. 5 for the Assistant in charge of Baihar Dispensary and

1 of 25 per cent of pay, subject to a maximum of Rs. 30 per men-
sem for the Assistant in charge of Chikalda Dispensary.

1 of 25 per cent of pay per mensem for the Assistant in charge
of the Ahiri Dispensary, Chanda District.

4.   The qualification for appointment as Veterinary Inspector will
ordinarily be a diploma of any Veterinary College in India.

5.  The appointment of Veterinary Assistant and Lecturer, Nagpur,
will be held by a Senior Assistant with a remunerative local allowance of
Rs. 30 per mensem.

6.  The posts of Veterinary Assistants are divided into five grades,

viz:—

First appointments are ordinarily made in the fourth grade, from passed
students of any of the Veterinary Colleges. Preference will be given to
properly qualified candidates selected from the Central Provinces and Berar
for training.
