7.Scholars.—This year there were 6 Government scholarships vacant
on January 1st, viz., 4 for youths from the Presidency proper and 2 for youths
from Sind. These vacancies were caused by three scholars having passed out
of the College, 1 scholar having failed at the annual examination and 2 Sind
scholarships being vacant from last year. The Principal awarded 4 scholarships
to youths from the Presidency and the Commissioner in Sind awarded
2 scholarships this year. The full complement of scholarships are now filled,
viz., 21 for the Bombay Presidency proper and 6 for Sind. This year there
were 25 applicants for the scholarships to be awarded by the Principal as
against 25 applicants for 7 last year and 27 for 12 in the preceding year.
The Government of the Central Provinces continued the stipends to the
two students already in the College. The Government of Ceylon sent a
scholar. The States of Palitana, Rutlam and Radhanpur continued the
scholarships to their students and Porbundar State gave a scholarship. Besides
these the Lingayat Education Fund continued to give 3 scholarships. At the
close of the year there were 36 students in receipt of some assistance from
scholarships and 58 students without such assistance.

8.The Students' Hostel.—The monthly average of students occupying
quarters in the hostel during the year was 74 as against 66 last year and 54
in the preceding year. The messing arrangements continue satisfactory.

9.The Students' Gymkhana.—During the year the students have con-
tinued to avail themselves of the tennis courts. The students have been
drilled.

10.The Health of the Students.—The health of the students has been
good.

11.Riding Class for Students.—The usual course of equitation was held
as in former years at the Riding School of His Excellency the Governor's Body
Guard at Chaupati.

12.Excursion for Students.—This year all excursions had to be abandoned
on account of the extra work thrown on the staff rendering it impossible for
any one to be away from the Hospital work.

13.Clinical Instruction of Students.—This was carried out as usual in
the Bai Sakerbai Dinshaw Petit Hospital for Animals which is affiliated to
this College. During the year 3,648 inpatients and 1,125 outpatients were
treated, a total of 4,773 patients. Of these 924 were equines, 2,579 bovines
and 1,270 others. The average daily attendance was 310.

14.The Laboratory.—The Laboratory has been utilised for diagnostic
and instructional purposes.

15.Discipline.—The students have been well behaved and their attend-
ance at College regular.

16.Employment of Graduates.—Of the 15 students who graduated in 1914,
9 are in the service of Government or Local Bodies, 2 are in the service of
Native States and 4 are as yet unemployed. Of the 16 students who graduated
in 1913, 7 are in the service of Government or Local Bodies, 4 are in the
service of Native States, 2 are in private practice and 3 are unemployed. Of
the 21 students who qualified in 1912, 12 are in the service of Government or
Local Bodies, 6 are in the service of Native States, 2 are in private practice and
1 is unemployed. Thus out of the total of 52 Graduates who have passed out
of the College in the last 3 years 2S are in the service of Government or Local
Bodies, 12 are in the service of Native States, 4 are in private practice and
8 are unemployed. Of the unemployed Graduates some have repeatedly
refused employment.

17.Training of Dressers.—As usual during the long vacation a course
for training drivers of the Supply and Transport Corps as dressers was held.
This year 14 drivers attended the course as against 18 last year and 12 in the
preceding year.

18.Post Graduate Course.—This year the course had to be abandoned
owing to extra duties being undertaken by the staff.

19.The College Building.—During the year work on the students' play
ground has been continued. One well has been covered and another filled in in
the College compound.
