SIR,

I have the honour to submit herewith the annual
report of the Civil Veterinary Department for the year
ending the 31st March 1929. I regret the delay which
was occasioned by the fact that the district reports did
not reach my office until after the proper date. The last
report arrived on the 5th July 1929 and no consolidation
of figures could be begun until this was received.

2.    Mr. C. W. Wilson, M.R.C.V.S., I.V.S., Veterinary
Adviser to Government, was on leave throughout the year.

3.    I toured in the Nagpur, Chanda, Chhindwara,
Mandla, Damoh, Seoni, Jubbulpore, Saugor, Betul,
Akola, Buldana, Amraoti, Yeotmal and Hoshangabad
districts by road marches and also travelled by rail and
inspected 53 dispensaries, namely, the dispensaries at
Raipur, Bilaspur, Mandla, Narsinghpur, Umrer, Chanda,
Warora, Chhindwara, all the dispensaries in the Damoh,
Seoni, Jubbulpore, Saugor districts (except Banda), Betul
district (except Bhainsdehi), Nimar district (except
Harsud), Akola district (except Balapur), Buldana district
(except Deulgaon Raja), Amraoti district (except Dharni,
Chandur and Daryapur), Yeotmal district (except Pusad,
Umerkhed and Ralegaon) and Hoshangabad district
(except Seoni-Malwa), and I also attended the Royal
Commission on Agriculture Conference at Simla.

I inspected the horned cattle slaughter-houses at
Rahatgarh and Pritherpura and the offices of the Deputy
Superintendents, East Berar, West Berar, Chhattisgarh,
Nerbudda and Jubbulpore Divisions, and of the Veterinary
