Buldana and Akola. I examined the students of the
Nagpur Agricultural College, and the students of the
Nagpur University in the Bachelor of Agriculture and
Intermediate classes in veterinary science in March 1929.

4.     Mr. R. V. Pillai, Deputy Superintendent, Civil
Veterinary Department, Nagpur Division, was placed in
charge of the current duties of the Second Superintendent,
in addition to his own duties, with effect from the 12th
September 1928. He held charge of the veterinary work
in the Nagpur and the Chhattisgarh Divisions from that
date. He toured in Nagpur, Wardha, Chanda, Bhandara,
Balaghat, Drug and Raipur districts and the Rajnandgaon
State by road marches and also by rail, and inspected 23
dispensaries, viz., all the dispensaries in the Wardha,
Nagpur, Balaghat, Bhandara, Drug, Chanda district (ex-
cept Ahiri) and the dispensaries at Raipur, Dhamtari, the
state veterinary dispensary at Rajnandgaon and also
inspected the slaughter-houses in the Nagpur Division.
He visited the cattle-breeding farms at Garhi and Sinde-
wahi and organized measures to combat the severe out-
break of rinderpest that threatened the Nagpur area
through Ramtek. Pressure of work at headquarters due
to combination of duties and frequent visits, at short
notice, to seats of rinderpest outbreaks interfered with his
normal tours of inspection.

5.    Rai Saheb Gouri Shankar Shrivastava, Deputy
Superintendent, Civil Veterinary Department, Chhattis-
garh Division, toured in the three districts of his division
and in the Rajnandgaon, Khairagarh, Raigarh and Kanker
States, and inspected 23 dispensaries, including the state
dispensaries at Rajnandgaon, Khairagarh, Raigarh and
Kanker; three dispensaries thrice, 14 dispensaries twice
and six dispensaries once. He visited the Government
cattle-breeding farms at Chandkhuri, Ruabanda and Sar-
kanda, the Court of Wards cattle-breeding farms at
Pithora, Thakurtola, Mohalla and Pakaria, the Krishi
Gowrakshini farm at Sakri and the Malguzari cattle-
breeding farms at Sarora, Raikheda and Barri. He
inspected the slaughter-houses for goats at Raipur, Dham-
tari, Baloda Bazar, Bhatapara, Bilaspur, Mungeli and
Drug and for cattle at Raipur and Bilaspur and attended
the agricultural and cattle shows held at Raipur, Bilaspur
