Rinderpest.—There was a severe outbreak of this disease in the city during the
year which necessitated the enforcement of the Madras Cattle Disease Act. The
necessary inoculations were carried out by the college staff.

Anthrax.—Three cases of anthrax in horses were admitted into hospital.

Twenty-six samples of skins were examined for exporting firms in Madras and the
revenue to Government from this source amounted to Rs. 390.

8.   College receipts.—The receipts of college from hospital charges, etc., amounted
to Rs. 15,842-15-10.

10.  Attendance and discipline of students.—Good.

11.   Hostel.—Plans and estimates for Rs. 13,600 for adding a second storey to
the hostel buildings were submitted to Government in April 1919 but as the Chief
Engineer considered that the present building cannot stand the proposed additional
storey, it is now proposed to construct a separate new building.

12.   General.—The laboratory building and the college extensions have been
completed and will be taken over from the Public Works Department shortly. The
Principal conducted the Diploma examination in 'Animal Hygiene' at Coimbatore
for the students of the Agricultural College in April 1919.

Six final year students of this college were deputed to attend the Cattle and Pony
show at Tiruppur in June 1919.

Two Veterinary officers from Bihar and Orissa underwent a course of training
at this college from 14th June 1919 to 7th March 1920.

The post of second European officer sanctioned for the college has not yet been
filled. Proposals have been submitted to Government for the appointment of a third
Imperial officer to the college.

Mr. Ware would like to record that while he was in charge of the college, he
received the most generous help from Mr. D'Silva and the whole of the teaching
staff.
