                                      Preface—General Administration.

I held charge of the office of the Principal, Bengal Veterinary
College, the Raymond Research Laboratory and the Epizootic Diseases
of Animals Department in Calcutta and its vicinity throughout the
year.

2.     Captain R. T. Davis held the Vice-Principalship charge of this
College throughout the year.

3.     The Assistant Principalship was held throughout the year by
Rai Sahib Dibakar Dey.

                                             Veterinary Instruction.

4. Students.—At the beginning of the session, 113 students were
on the rolls in the 3 classes. One hundred prolonged their studies
throughout the session (2 removed for continued absence, 1 for mis-
conduct, and 1 for ill-health, 1 died and 8 left of their own accord).

Of these, 56 were Hindus, 33 Muhammadans, 11 Christians. Among these
students, 65 were Matriculates.

5.    Class A.—This class consisted of 29 students, composed of 20
new students and 9 failed students of last year. All went up for the
examination, and 26 passed, making a percentage of 89.65.

6.     Class B.—This class consisted of 36 students, composed of 260
promoted from class A and 10 failed students of last year. All went up
for the examination, and 33 passed, making a percentage of 91.66.
