by demonstration of exhibits, lectures and cinema shows to the pub-
lic. It is estimated that over a lakh of people visited the Demonstra-
tion Train and interested themselves in the exhibits shown on the
occasion.

After the return of the train to Calcutta, it was kept on view for
four days, and on the 28th of March last a meeting was held at the
Manson Institute grounds at Sealdah, presided over by Mr. J. N.
Gupta, M.B.E., I.C.S., Commissioner, Presidency Division, to afford the
high officials and officers of the Departments concerned, as well as
public men interested in social welfare problems, to obtain first hand
experience and appraise the educative value of the enterprise.

Veterinary Inspector Babu M. P. Ghose, who was practically in
charge of the Demonstration Train throughout the whole period, deserves
special commendation for the work done in this connection. Veterin-
ary Assistant Surgeons, Babus H. K. Bose and P. K. Chandra, also
worked hard to make the whole show a success.
