                                                            1926-27.

                                     Preface—General Administration.

I held charge of the office of the Principal, Bengal Veterinary
College, the Raymond Research Laboratory and the Epizootic Diseases
of Animals Department in Calcutta and its vicinity throughout the
year.

2.     Captain R. T. Davis held the Vice-Principalship charge of
this College throughout the year.

3.     The Assistant Principalship was held throughout the year by
Rai Sahib Debakar Dey.

4.     The Government of Bengal in their order No. 467, dated the
25th January 1927, directed that, for purposes of administration, the
Bengal Veterinary College should, until further orders, be removed
from the control of the Veterinary Adviser to the Government of
Bengal and placed directly under Government in the Department of
Agriculture and Industries.

                                             Veterinary Instruction.

5.     Students.—At the beginning of the session, 139 students were
on the rolls in the three classes, 125 prolonged their studies through-
out the session and 14 left for various reasons. They came from the

Of these, 71 were Hindus, 40 Muhammadans, 12 Christians and 2
Buddhists. Among these students, 86 were Matriculates.
