What is the total land area of the subdivision (cultivated, grazing, and
sterile, separately, if practicable)?

492,000 acres (cultivated 357,900 acres, grazing 60,100 acres, and sterile
7,400 acres).

Is any land available on a Government estate or otherwise, and if so, on
what estate, which is suited for cattle breeding?

There is no land in Government estates in this subdivision. In the Serail
estate there are places suitable for cattle-breeding, but during the high
flood they remain under water for about 3 months and therefore not suit-
able for the whole year.

How are cattle fed, whether stall fed or grazed, or both; and whether any
grain, &c., is allowed?

Cattle are fed on stall feeding or on grazing or on both, rice, kulai, bhusi
(husks of pulses) and oil-cakes are allowed only by a few persons.

Grazing land was plentiful, but is becoming scarce day by day owing to the
grazing lands being brought under cultivation.
