Factory.

The Manager of the Tataria Indigo
Factory in Champaran reported an
outbreak of Foot and mouth disease
among his cattle and requested me
to send a competent Veterinary
Assistant with medicines and
disinfectants, and his request was
supported by Messrs. Gillanders,
Arbuthnot, & Co. One of the
lecturers and a senior student were
sent with medicines, &c. The
preventive measures adopted by
them checked the further spread
of the disease, and the thanks of
the Manager were received.

Municipality.

The Vice-Chairman reported four cases
of Foot and Mouth disease among the
cows of the Bankipore Jail. The
affected cattle were inspected by
the Veterinary Assistant at Banki-
pore and were isolated in a separate
shed within the Jail compound, and
a separate man was engaged to
look after them. No further
action was considered necessary
from this Department.
